Legendary trombonist Curtis Fuller will be featured on Saturday afternoon at the Detroit Jazz Festival as one of many headliners this weekend, while Robin Eubanks and Vincent Gardner will perform as sidemen with Dave Holland and Derrick Gardner, respectively. The lineup also includes harmonica virtuoso Toots Thielemans, saxophonist-clarinetist Anat Cohen, violinist Regina Carter, saxophonist Joe Lovano, vibraphonist Gary Burton and guitarist Kevin Eubanks among a slew of others, with drummer Jeff 'Tain' Watts acting as Artist-in-Residence for the festival this year.
Curtis Fuller's performance at the festival will take place at 3:15 p.m. Saturday on the Mack Avenue Waterfront Stage. Dave Holland Octet (with Robin Eubanks) will perform Saturday at 9:15pm at the Carhartt Amphitheatre Stage. Derrick Gardner and the Jazz Prophets -- along with Vincent Gardner on trombone -- will perform Saturday at noon on the Mack Avenue Waterfront Stage.
